PRINCE 2 PROJECT MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY

There's a good reason why many projects fail. We've all heard the old saying "failing to plan is planning to fail" but as old as it is it still rings true.

Good project management skills comes from being organised and it can be as simple as knowing where everything is that you need to put a project together.

Some of the largest projects like infrastructure projects including building of new railway stations, buildings and tunnels obviously use proven methodologies which may include PRINCE 2 or PMBOK or parts of each to suit their needs. Whilst you may compare the features of these two methodologies it really doesn't matter which one is used as long as there IS one.

But you don't have to run a large project to reap great benefits from using a structured methodology, you can simply be rolling out a new software package and following any methodology will alert you to think about things such as cost, timing, risk, change management, return on investment etc.
